The Brenham Maifestival will be held Friday and Saturday this year at Fireman’s Park beginning Friday at 6:00pm with music, children’s activities, festival food and drinks.
The Mighty Thomas Carnival will run this year from Thursday night through Saturday night. Rides and games for all ages will begin at 5:00pm Thursday and Friday nights and start up again at 11:00am on Saturday morning.
The Junior Coronation will be held Friday evening with young children participating in an elaborate outdoor ceremony which provides entertainment and the presentation of the Junior King and Queen. Live bands featuring some of Texas’ best new talent will begin at 5:30pm and continue throughout the evening on Fireman’s Park main stage. Plenty of food, “German soda water” and wine will be available in the Biergarten and Winegartens.
On Saturday, the Maifestival opens immediately following the 10:30am downtown Maifest Parade. Interested groups must fill out the on-line registration under the Participate tab. The festival at Fireman’s Park features a German Village showcasing Brenham’s heritage and the Kinder Village with activities for our young visitors. German Music and Folk Dancing, children’s activities, beer tastings and local live country music fill the day.
The Senior Coronation will be held Saturday evening in Firemans Park with former royalty and high school students providing entertainment for this outdoor event. The culmination of the Maifest Celebration is highlighted by the presentation of the Senior King and Queen. Another full night of fun, live music, food, drink and good friends ensue.
While in town, enjoy the beautiful springtime sights of Brenham and Washington County. Make plans early to stay at one of our many fine motels or Bed and Breakfasts.
There is no admission charge to the grounds for the festival. Tickets are required for the Junior and Senior Coronations, the carnival and some children’s activities.
